BRUSH CREEK RANGE RULES

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL CLUB MEMBERS.

IN THE PAST, THE GALESBURG RIFLE CLUB HAS ENDEAVORED TO FURNISH A SAFE PLACE FOR GUN ENTHUSIASTS TO SHOOT FOR A VERY NOMINAL FEE.

THIS IS A PRIVILEGE !!!

Most rifle and pistol clubs restrict their members’ shooting to target work only. This would eliminate about 80% of the shooting at Brush Creek Range because we have a lot of members who want an informal place for”plinking”.  In the past we have had a situation where many shooters left old targets, plastic jugs, bottles and cans after shooting. A few members who became concerned have spent several hours each month cleaning up the mess left by these inconsiderate shooters. There are trash barrels on all three ranges.   PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR TRASH BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

RANGE RULES

  1. Membership card must be displayed on your person when using the range.
  2. Shooting is permitted only into proper backstops.
  3. No glass of any kind (bottles, window etc.) will be allowed on any of the Ranges.
  4. No concrete blocks, bricks or other trash will be allowed in the target areas. There should not be any brought to Brush Creek Range. All foreign material presents a hazard for the people who do our mowing.
  5. No objects are to be set on top of the permanent target boards wich are maintained by the club. This unsafe practice causes shots to be aimed “high” which can result in a round leaving the range.
  6. No targets are to be set in front of the berm which protects the 200 yard scoring pits.  Shooting into this berm is not permitted.
  7. Finally, we have neighbors on all sides of the range property. Be sure that the rounds which you shoot stay on range property. Indiscriminate shooting is a hazard to all of us and could endanger the operation of the range.
  8. Use common sense!!!!!!! After a rain, and when the ground is wet and/or muddy DO NOT DRIVE  to the target areas. This range is barely above the water table and is always in jeopardy of sinking.
  9. THE USE OF THE CLUB FACILITIES IS FOR MEMBERS ONLY!!!
  10. The use of exploding targets is PROHIBITED!!! Specifically the use of targets containing Tannerite or any similar exploding chemical.

Use common sense and enjoy our facilities.
